We present this majestic antique Italian lectern, crafted from solid walnut and dating back to the early 19th century. Featuring a pyramid-shaped top section topped with a decorative turned wooden knob, it is ideal for use on both sides. It offers two slanted shelves for holding books, missals, or sheet music. The base of the slanted shelves features a contoured bookend to prevent volumes from slipping. The two open sides create a curious and decorative interior niche. A turned vertical axis connects the top section to the base. A circular top provides additional support midway up. At the base, three curved supports extend outward for stability. A decorative carved ring joins the three legs at their point of maximum convergence. The feet rest on a contoured triangular base, raised off the ground.
