We are pleased to present this splendid 20th-century oil painting on masonite panel. This magnificent work is signed lower left: Wilhelm Buddenberg, and a brass plate in the frame bears the inscription “Wilhelm Buddenberg”. It is attributed to the German painter Wilhelm Hermann Friedrich Buddenberg (born July 16, 1890, Trier; died February 2, 1967, Neuss), particularly renowned as a painter of animals and hunting scenes. This wonderful oil painting on panel signed Wilhelm Buddenberg depicts a wintry forest landscape. In the foreground, the main subject of the scene is a flock of four pheasants. The pheasants move among the low vegetation on the snow-covered ground, perhaps searching for food. One male stands out for its colorful and distinctive plumage, with a blue-green neck. The scene is set in a splendid pine and conifer forest, where snow covers the ground and whitens the tree branches. The artistic quality is evident in the detailed, figurative style typical of European hunting paintings. The painter masterfully uses cold colors and diffused light to perfectly recreate a typical winter atmosphere.
If you love paintings depicting winter nature or are passionate about hunting, you absolutely must add this wonderful painting to your collection. A splendid work of art that will enchant your guests! The painting is presented in a magnificent 20th-century gilded wooden frame with delicate relief decorations.
