We present an sofa antique Italian from the second half of the 18th century crafted during the era of Louis XVI which represents a piece of furniture of great charm and historical value. The wood of walnut solid used for the frame ensures exceptional sturdiness and a classy look. The seat and the backrest are upholstered and covered in velvet, a material typical of the era, which contributes to the sense of luxury and refinement of the piece.
The three large cushions on the seat reflect the period’s emphasis on comfort, whilst retaining the simple, understated lines that characterised the Louis XVI style. This style is known for its balance between elegance and simplicity, with clean lines and understated proportions.
The wooden frame of the sofa is in good condition, but it is advisable to replace the velvet due to the stains and have the upholstery reupholstered to restore its original comfort.
