We are pleased to present this splendid oil painting on canvas from the first half of the 19th century. A beautiful portrait of a young woman. A young woman of refined beauty is depicted half-length. Her large blue eyes look directly at the viewer with a serene expression. Her skin is very pale, with a slight natural blush on her cheeks. In the 19th century, pale skin was essential for women who wanted to be fashionable and assert their aristocratic social status. Her brown hair is gathered in an elaborate updo, with well-defined curls that perfectly frame her angelic face. She wears a dark red dress (in the Biedermeier/late Regency style) with a wide bateau neckline that leaves her shoulders bare.
